Nevada City is definitely one of my favorite zones to tour! Today there were a whopping 21 properties to investigate, and I chose four that stood out to me. This first one on 16230 Bush Rd was appealing since it’s laid out nicely with an adjoining guest unit on one side of the home, that includes it’s own one-car garage. This flows into the main home with a large open floor plan that ends with the master en suite with a 2-car garage on the other end of the home. Very picturesque setting on on 2.5 acres with a private shared road. It’s my opinion that kitchenette on the guest unit side would have completed the separate unit. The Victorian home with Deer Creek frontage on 338 Jordan St was charming! Beautiful original wood floors and ornate door knobs; a cozy fireplace setting in the living room was very inviting. The upstairs loft makes a wonderful playroom or hobby/office space, however, I thought it was odd to have a claw tub situated on the carpet outside the bathroom area. In any case, a wonderful journey to the backyard included the ambling trail leading to the babbling Deer Creek just below. Click on link:

Another Victorian home located in town on 211 Prospect St, was a delightful touring experience! The open room concept gave a feeling of spaciousness upon entering the living room, and the large gourmet kitchen with giant island included bar stool seating across from the range. A stunning chandelier decorated the dining room, and bedrooms were impeccably staged. Overall, there was a contemporary feel with the updating throughout, yet it held its vintage charm with the Victorian door knobs and stained glass windows. The outside structures are a bonus, but would have preferred if they were finished as garage space or other living space.

I ended my tour with 12197 Poke Pl, a warm and inviting home that greeted you immediately with a cheery fire in the fireplace. The open floor plan and vaulted ceilings were incorporated nicely with the remodeling done throughout the home. The sliding doors drew you outdoors to a fully fenced backyard, a fun playground for frolicking! This is an ideal home, but not for someone who prefers not to be within earshot of the shooting range.
